Alabama transfer Shawn Jennings lands at South Alabama

Former Alabama linebacker Shawn Jennings will transfer to South Alabama and play safety, AL.com has confirmed.

Jennings, who redshirted with the Crimson Tide last season, is not expected to sign with USA until August, according to a source. He will sit out the 2017 season under NCAA transfer rules, then have three seasons of eligibility with the Jaguars.

Jennings announced his commitment to USA via Twitter on Wednesday:

Jennings (6-foot-2, 218 pounds) is the younger brother of Alabama linebacker Anfernee Jennings.
