Soccer unites: Wembley sings Marseillaise in Paris tribute

Soccer became irrelevant on Tuesday evening, as French and English fans came together to sing the Marseillaise in a show of solidarity following Friday's tragedy.

LONDON -- Wembley paid a touching and emotional tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris, as the entire stadium came together in an act of solidarity to sing the French national anthem.

Fans from both nations stood shoulder to shoulder to honor the victims from Friday's attacks, with the words to the Marseillaise shown on the scoreboard for English fans to join in.

The French team had earned a standing ovation as players entered the field for warmups, and were again greeted with warm applause and support as both sides walked out of the tunnel prior to kick off.
