Raul Gudiño’s last-minute penalty save marked the occasion as Club América were held to a 1-1 draw by rivals Chivas in the Clásico Nacional.
In an otherwise unentertaining first half, Oribe Peralta came closest to grabbing a breakthrough with a header after being denied by Chivas’s impressive 22-year-old goalkeeper Raul Gudiño.
In truth, Club América had enjoyed more possession and attacking potency through the first 58 minutes, up until Miguel Herrera’s men were left stunned when Alan Pulido gave Chivas the lead. Josecarlos Van Ranking eluded two defenders on the right- wing in splendid fashion before setting up Pulido from point-blank range.
