Guardiola provides Champions League omen for Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeone's men have reached the final for the second time in three years after knocking the Spaniard's side out - an achievement which tends to lead to European success

Pep Guardiola may have given an omen to Atletico Madrid after Bayern Munich’s Champions League exit on Tuesday evening.

The German champion secured a 2-1 win at the Allianz Arena thanks to goals from Xabi Alonso and Robert Lewandowski, but was dumped out of the competition on away goals.

Atletico has now reached the third final in their history and will face either Real Madrid or Manchester City, who meet at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.
