Chapecoense Goalkeeper Danilo Posthumously Named Brazil Fans' Player of the Year

Danilo, Chapecoense's goalkeeper who was killed in the club's air crash on November 28, has been posthumously voted as Brazil's Player of the Year by fans.

According to Reuters (h/t the Guardian), Danilo received 48 per cent of the votes, which were cast online, and his mother Ilaides Padilha collected the award in his stead.

Danilo's sister, Daniele Padilha, shared a photo of herself and her mother with his award on her Facebook page:
