With just over 480,000 residents Newcastle is Australia's seventh largest city, but on Saturday night it will have the focus of the nation as the Newcastle Jets aim to win their second A-League championship when they host Melbourne Victory in the 2018 A-League Grand Final.
Newcastle defeated Victory's cross-town rivals, Melbourne City, in the semi-final largely thanks to a stunning scorpion kick goal from 19-year-old midfielder Riley McGree.
City's Uruguayan forward Bruno Fornaroli put his side into the lead in the 14th minute, a lead they held for more than 40 minutes, but it was then that history was made and the on-the-run scorpion kick headed straight for the top right hand corner of the goal.
