SMU's dream season ended sooner than expected. But the Mustangs should be back and better next year.
ESPN.com's Eamonn Brennan listed SMU at No. 20 in his way-too-early Top 25 rankings for the 2017-18 season.
"Semi Ojeleye was a blue-chip prospect at Duke who sat out for a season, worked on his game and reemerged in Dallas as one of the nation's best offensive players -- one in possession of clear NBA-level gifts," Brennan wrote. "It's no wonder he's testing the draft waters this spring.
"If he hears plenty of first-round assurances, it seems unlikely the 22-year-old would stay, at which point SMU's outlook would obviously change.
