SMU loses to Houston in Rompola’s home finale

The SMU Women’s Basketball team fell to the Houston Cougars 63-54 in Head Coach Rhonda Rompola’s final home game. Coach Rompola was honored before the game, celebrating her commitment to SMU Women’s Basketball after a combined 35 years coaching and playing for the Mustangs.

Many alumni came to Coach Rompola's last game coaching at SMU to honor her many years of service to SMU Athletics.

After playing on the team for a year, Rompola immediately transitioned into a coaching position for the team. She was then named as the team’s head coach in 1991. During her tenure as coach, Rompola has tallied an impressive 438-316 record, giving her the most victories as a coach in SMU history.
