The 2018 MLS Waiver Draft takes place today at 1 PM PT. Based on reverse order of finish in 2018, the Seattle Sounders have the 20th pick; expansion side FC Cincinnati picks at 24. Any team that selects a player in the end-of-season waiver draft moves to the bottom of the waiver list for potential midseason waiver drafts in 2019. Any claimed player must receive a “genuine offer.”
The waiver draft is considered bottom of the barrel, bargain shopping for MLS teams. In fact, in most years since its inception there has not been a single selection made in the draft.
