BK Häcken have announced the signing of Seattle Sounders’ midfielder Erik Friberg to a four year deal. The Swede returns home after a short, though ultimately successful, second stint in Seattle. His departure leaves the Sounders’ roster looking increasingly spare.
Friberg made 38 appearances over the past two seasons in which he scored 1 goal and provided 3 assists. Though always a strong defender in midfield a series of small injuries seemed to prevent Friberg from bringing his best offense consistently over the past season. Despite the inconsistency he played an important part in the Sounders’ run to MLS Cup.
