Andreas Ivanschitz scores twice as Seattle Sounders top L.A. Galaxy 4-0 in preseason scrimmage

Sounders midfielder Andreas Ivanschitz continued his strong preseason with two goals and a hockey assist as Seattle topped the L.A. Galaxy 4-0 on Wednesday in a preseason scrimmage at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

Ivanschitz scored in the 23rd and 57th minutes, sandwiching a 27th-minute free kick that was pushed forward via Brad Evans’ back heel and smashed into the net by Chad Marshall.

Seattle opened the match in its new 4-3-3 formation. Rookie Jordan Morris, who notched a pair of assists on the night, replaced China-bound Obafemi Martins on the wing next to Nelson Valdez and Clint Dempsey.
