Seahawks release longsnapper Clint Gresham

The Seahawks have released veteran longsnapper Clint Gresham. Gresham signed a three-year, $2.705M contract last year and he was due to represent a $860k against the cap in 2016, but will now account for a $200k dead money charge.

Seattle recently signed tackle Bradley Sowell, who had been training to be a longsnapper this offseason (and just published this video of him longsnapping to Instagram three days ago), so he could be a replacement option. Perhaps Seattle will try to open up one roster spot (and gameday active spot) by having Sowell play the role as a backup offensive lineman plus the longsnapper.
