Former Skyline High QB Jake Heaps signs with Seahawks

One-time Washington prep phenom quarterback Jake Heaps has signed as a free agent with the Seattle Seahawks and will attend the team’s rookie mini-cap this weekend. Heaps Tweeted a photo of himself signing his contract earlier Monday.

Heaps led Skyline High to state titles in 2008 and 2009, in the process becoming one of the most-heralded recruits in Washington history.

He signed with BYU after also seriously considering Washington, but stayed there just two seasons before transferring to Kansas. He spent two years there before transferring to Miami.

He signed as a free agent with the New York Jets last May and was with the team through training camp until being released on Aug.
