3 Players Who Must Step Up For The Seattle Seahawks To Make The Playoffs

The Seattle Seahawks are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in six seasons as they need to win their final two games of the season - and get some help - for them to sneak into the postseason. Many people are writing them off after they were blown out at home by the Rams last weekend, but there is still hope. However, they'll need these three players to step up for that to happen:

1) Jeremy Lane/Shaq Griffin
With Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor out, Seattle's secondary has been...less than stellar. The best way to fix that is for either Jeremy Lane or Shaq Griffin to step up and become a cornerback makes opposing quarterbacks pay for throwing their way. Sherman shut down an entire side of the field, and while you can't ask either of these players to do that, one of them needs to limit the opponents' best receiver to give this defense a needed boost.

2) Michael Bennett
One way to help with a struggling secondary is to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and while the onus for that falls on the entire defensive line, Michael Bennett is their leader and most talented player - and needs to take his game to another level down the stretch. He only has one sack in the last five games.

3) Any running back
Simply put, Seattle needs someone to step up and help take some of the pressure off of Russell Wilson. Only one player other than Wilson (Chris Carson) has more than 200 rushing yards, and he hasn't played since October 1st. Seattle hasn't had a 100-yard rusher all season long, and while they don't need that, they need to get some serious production from Mike Davis, Eddie Lacy, or J.D. McKissic.
