NEW ORLEANS — Tyler Smith and Darlo Pizzano each had three hits as Tacoma pounded out 11 in all in a 7-4 victory over New Orleans in Pacific Coast League baseball Saturday.
The Rainiers (30-19) put together five singles to score four runs in the seventh inning to take a 6-0 lead. Mike Zunino finished off the scoring with a solo homer in the ninth.
Chris Taylor added two hits for Tacoma.
Adrian Sampson got the victory, throwing seven shutout innings at the Zephyrs (20-28). He struck out six and allowed just five hits.
