Seattle Mariners shed Safeco Field woes, move up in Week 4 MLB power ranking

So much for not playing well at Safeco Field.

After going an uninspiring 1-5 on the first homestand of the season, the Mariners returned to Seattle last week and averaged 4.33 runs per game while taking two of three from the Astros and Royals.

Even after Sunday's 4-1 loss to Kansas City, Mariners manager Scott Servais was optimistic after his club won 11 of its past 16 games. The Mariners have won five series in a row for the first times since 2011.

"We're playing very good baseball," Servais said. "I talked about our offense coming together.
