Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:
· David Freitas, C, claimed off waivers from Atlanta.
· Rob Whalen, RHP, reinstated to the 40-man roster.
Seattle’s 40-man roster is now full at 40 players.
Freitas, 28, made his Major League debut with Atlanta after having his contract purchased from AAA Gwinnett on Aug. 30, 2017. He appeared in 6 games with the Braves, batting .235 (4x17) with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound right-handed hitting catcher, spent the majority of the season with Gwinnett, batting .
