Mariners acquire infielder Luis Sardinas from the Brewers

Another day, another trade. The Mariners have announced they have acquired 22-year-old shortstop Luis Sardinas from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for outfielder Ramon Flores.

Sardinas, a switch hitter, has spent parts of the last two seasons at the big league level hitting .231/.274/.269/.543 in 230 plate appearances. Originally signed by the Texas Rangers, it is likely both Seattle manager Scott Servais and bench coach Tim Bogar are familiar with him.

Sardinas was rated as a Top-100 prospect in 2013 and 2014. He was acquired by the Brewers from Texas in the Yovani Gallardo trade and rated the third best prospect in their organization by Baseball America.
