The Chicago Cubs claimed left-handed pitcher Edgar Olmos off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles and released recently acquired infielder Brendan Ryan.
Chicago also announced that pitcher Yoervis Medina was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
All three players are former Mariners. Olmos was initially claimed off waivers by Chicago from Seattle on Dec. 4. He was then claimed off waivers by Baltimore on Dec. 10.
Olmos spent most of last season at Class AAA Tacoma.
