At the end of a frustrating night, it gets worse for Mariners in 6-5 defeat against Twins

The Seattle bats don’t produce and the Mariners can’t beat the visiting Twins — the team with the worst record in the American League.

It’s officially scored a 2-4-5-6 double play, and it really was the most absurd rally-killing double play of the season.

Down a run in the ninth, the Mariners had runners on first and third with one out. And then with one pitch in the dirt, there were three outs and a 6-5 defeat against Minnesota.

Kyle Seager, on first and representing the winning run, tried to advance to second when the ball briefly got away from Twins catcher Juan Centeno.
