PROVO, Utah – Junior Hayden Shieh carded a 5-under 67 on Thursday to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the WCC Championship, taking place at the Riverside Country Club in Provo. As a team the Broncos scored a 2-under 286 to tie for fourth place.
"Another nice round by Hayden," head coach Rob Miller said. "There are a lot of good players in this conference and Hayden is one of them."
Shieh recorded five birdies and a bogey on the 7,013-yard course layout to take a one-stroke lead over a trio of golfers, including BYU's Patrick Fishburn, the 40th ranked player in the country.
