SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In a split-squad Red and White scrimmage, Santa Clara women's soccer battled to a scoreless draw in a tune-up for the regular season.
Both sides created chances but the Broncos usual tough defense, led by All-WCC Preseason selections Kellie Peay and Gudrun Arnardottir, and some nice saves from all three goalkeepers on the roster thwarted any offense.
The two teams combined to take 15 shots with nine being on goal in two thirty minute halves. Newcomers Maria Sanchez and Kelcie Hedge, both on the White team, attempted two shots on goal apiece.
