Hess Named First Team All-WCC for Third Time; Mead Named Honorable Mention

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Two of Santa Clara volleyball's most decorated players added to their list of accolades when the West Coast Conference announced its volleyball season awards on Monday. Nikki Hess was named First Team All-WCC for the third straight season and Kirsten Mead received an Honorable Mention award.

All awards were voted on solely by the WCC's 10 head coaches.

Hess, one of the top players in program history, totaled 371 kills (3.47/set), 294 digs (2.75/set), 42 blocks (0.39/set) and 28 aces (0.26/set) in 2016. She had 11 double-doubles on the year in 29 matches and 107 sets.
