Sharks forward Tommy Wingels, a member of the You Can Play project, said Wednesday he was disappointed Chicago’s Andrew Shaw used an anti-gay slur the night before in the Blackhawks’ game against the St. Louis Blues.

Shaw was suspended one game by the NHL on Wednesday afternoon for making use of a homophobic slur late in the third period of Tuesday’s Game 4 between the St. Louis Blues and Blackhawks at United Center.
