LAS VEGAS — Forward Evander Kane is facing supplemental discipline for his cross-check to the face of Pierre-Edouard Bellemare in Game 1 of the Sharks’ second round playoff series with the Vegas Golden Knights and will have a hearing Friday with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.
Kane delivered two cross-checks to Bellemare at the 3:25 mark of the third period Thursday. His first cross-check hit Bellemare in the right arm as he skated up on him from behind. Bellemare then turned his head toward Kane as he threw another cross-check, which made contact with Bellemare’s head.
