Penguins top Senators in 2 OTs, head back to Finals

PITTSBURGH — Chris Kunitz’s knuckling shot from outside the circle fluttered past goalie Craig Anderson 5 minutes, 9 seconds into the second overtime to give the Penguins a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals Thursday night.

Pittsburgh center Sidney Crosby sent a soft backhand pass from the right face-off circle to Kunitz, whose shot allowed the defending Stanley Cup champions to advance.

“With the way he was holding the stick, you could tell he wanted it bad,” Crosby said. “I just tried to lay it there for him.
