Former San Jose Shark Sergei Makarov elected to Hockey Hall

Former Sharks forward Sergei Makarov has been elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Makarov, 58, joined Eric Lindros and Rogie Vachon as those elected into the player category, and Pat Quinn was elected into the builder's category. Quinn passed away in 2014. Near the end of his illustrious career, Makarov played two seasons for the Sharks and had 92 points in 123 regular season games. In 1993-94, Makarov, playing alongside former Soviet Union teammate Igor Larionov, was the Sharks' leading point-getter with 68 points in 80 games.That season, Makarov had 10 points in 14 playoff games as the Sharks came within one win of advancing to the Western Conference finals.
