Teacher arrested in child sex case had contacted 5th grader months before, incident went unreported, DA says

MARTINEZ — A Vallejo elementary school teacher arrested for alleged illicit contact with an undercover cop posing as a young teen violated his school’s policy last October when he contacted a 5th grader through social media, records show.

Andrew Lund, 36, allegedly contacted the young student though a private message on social media, asked if she missed him, and told her meet him behind the classroom during recess periods. The move violated a school district policy barring teachers from contacting students through social media.

Lund’s punishment? He was given a written notice telling him the incident would not be placed in his personnel file, so long as he did not violated the policy again.
