New SF Giants light show was a spectacle of impatience

The San Francisco Giants finally found a moment to shoehorn Camilo Doval’s highly anticipated light show entrance into a game at Oracle Park.

The organization announced last month that whenever the closer would emerge from the bullpen at home, the ballpark’s lights would flash into a full rhythmic frenzy of white and red colors to make the entrance more of a spectacle.

Showcasing this thing has proved to be a lot harder than expected. Even though the Giants have won every game he’s appeared in, Doval has only had three save opportunities this season, and none have satisfied the two very important requirements for the light show: a) a home game and b) at night.
