GOODYEAR, Ariz. – This is Matt Moore’s first spring training with the Giants. He says they shouldn’t expect him to contend for the Cactus League ERA title.
“I usually stink in spring training,” said Moore, who spent his previous springs in the less lively Florida humidity with the Tampa Bay Rays.
You’d imagine Moore would loathe a spring in Arizona, where the ball flies. So far, though, Moore seems to like it. His family in Albuquerque isn’t too far away.
“And there are a lot more places to eat,” he said.
Moore’s spring appetizer Sunday was mixed.
