Giants being cautious with injured players

NEW YORK — Giants manager Bruce Bochy understands the fans’ frustration with the stops and starts of the injury rehabs, because he feels it, too.

“You’re anxious to get them back,” Bochy said. What’s hard is when they start their rehab, you’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. You’re thinking they’ll get going, play a few games, then be here. But you have to remember they haven’t played for a while. They’re not ready for that. It’s like their spring training.”

The subject arose as Joe Panik (concussion) and Hunter Pence (hamstring) continued their rehab assignments in Sacramento but did not play Friday night.
