San Francisco Giants: Offense Explodes, Johnny Cueto Dazzles, Hunter Pence Gets Scooter And More

The San Francisco Giants have started off the MLB season red-hot, a fitting beginning for what the team hopes is another even-yeared World Series run.

The Giants took their first series win of 2016 by defeating the Milwaukee Brewers on consecutive days. On Monday, the offense was the story, combining for 12 runs on 15 hits including home runs off the bats of Buster Posey, Joe Panik and new leadoff man Denard Span. Those runs alone provided more than enough support for Madison Bumgarner, who got the win despite having a shaky debut, lasting just five innings while giving up three earned runs on five hits and five walks. He struck out six.

Johnny Cueto, another marquee offseason addition, stole the show on Tuesday. The hard-throwing right-hander limited the Brewers to one run over seven innings, striking out fourth. After a Brandon Crawford homer in the third, a Matt Duffy sacrifice groundout in the fourth ending up being the difference in a 2-1 victory for the Giants.

On a lighter note, the off-the-field news of the week was Hunter Pence's scooter being stolen for a second time -- this time from the Make-A-Wish Foundation office in San Francisco. Thankfully, the scooter was recovered on Tuesday, according to KRON4. Two suspects have been arrested, while a third remains at large.
