DENVER -- MLB.com's new technology had Brandon Belt's monstrous blast traveling 475 feet. ESPN Stats & Info, for so long the record-keeper for homers, had it at just 437. 

The man who hit it said the shot was so pure he barely felt the contact. As for the official distance ...

"I mean, I'd like to think they're both wrong," Belt said, smiling. "I'll take the higher number. I keep on thinking, if the stands weren't there ..."

Belt wondered aloud how they calculate the distance on a ball that was still screaming when it hit the third deck at Coors Field.
