The Giants received some more good news on Friday, as their red-hot staff may have another game-ready arm to add to its rotation soon.
Jake Peavy finished his rehab start with the San Jose Giants after tossing 3 1/3 scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit, one walk, and struck out four batters.
The right-hander retired 10 of 12 hitters. He also threw 37 strikes on a night where his final pitch count was at 50.
Peavy was placed on the disabled list on April 18 due to a lower back injury. The club recalled catcher Andrew Susac to fill his spot.
