MIAMI — Jake Peavy and Matt Cain were supposed to be the Giants’ second and third starters in 2015, and Peavy was deadly honest Sunday when he said he knows the faithful do not view the pair that way.
On a trip to Miami and Washington that begins Tuesday night, Peavy and Cain should get to begin showing exactly who they can be after lengthy injury stints.
Cain is expected pitch for the first time in 51 weeks Thursday in the finale of a three-game series against the Marlins. Peavy could make his third start of the season, and first since April 17, the next night in Washington.
