The 49ers this week pledged $1 million to a pair of Bay Area groups.
The groups include the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and The S.F. Foundation, a source confirmed to CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco.
Colin Kaepernick after his final preseason game against the Packers vowed to donate his first $1 million of earnings this season to various organizations.
On Wednesday morning, the quarterback let it be known that he will be giving additional money.
"I want to thank everyone who has shown me love and support, it truly means a lot!" Kaepernick wrote on Instagram.
