Outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks will not play Sunday against the New York Giants due to the death of his 40-year-old sister, Brooks’ agent told ESPN.
Brooks’ agent, Greg Williams, told ESPN that Brooks’ sister died of lupus.
Brooks was excused from practice Wednesday for a family issue, 49ers coach Jim Tomsula said.
The 49ers could not confirm any details of the Brooks family emergency, a team spokesman told CSNBayArea.com on Thursday morning.
