Photos: Marshawn Lynch has triumphant return, but not enough to beat San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers Dre Greenlaw stopped Seattle Seahawks Jacob Hollister just inches of the goal line to secure their 26-21 win and an NFC West title.

It was their first NFC West title since 2012 and the 20th in franchise history. Marshawn Lynch came out of retirement to play this important game and contributed with a 1-yard touchdown dive with 9:55 remaining. After the touchdown, fans showered both him and the field in Skittles, temporarily delaying the game. Lynch had 12 carries for 34 yards against the 49ers, who finished the season with a 13-3 record.

Lynch wore cleats bearing the message “unfinished business,” and now it looks like he may have to save them for another game.
