Former 49ers Tom Rathman and Justin Smith have been tapped to announce the franchise’s second- and third-round selections Friday in the NFL draft.
Rathman is also this year’s inductee into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. 49ers Hall of Fame, as will be discussed during a press conference Wednesday morning.
Rathman and Smith were two of the 49ers’ marquee leaders during the team’s most recent playoff runs from 2011-13, and both recently left the franchise among its turnover and fall from contention.
Rathman went from being two-time Super Bowl winner as a player to a long-time assistant coach.
