Marcus Rush is soon to be back on the open market

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released defensive end Marcus Rush, per Jaguars.com writer John Oehser (h/t user AndresCantSleep). The decision comes five months after signing him off the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. Rush spent the final two games of the 2016 on the Jaguars 53-man roster. He has to clear waivers before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Rush signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2015, and spent all of 2015 and most of 2016 on their practice squad. Rush led the NFL with six preseason sacks, to go along with an interception, two pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.
