Jeff Garcia had a world wind weekend in order to be in the South Bay Monday night for his San Jose Sports Hall of Fame induction. Garcia, now an assistant coach with the St. Louis Rams, flew from Minnesota after the Rams-Vikings game to his home in San Diego. He then took an afternoon flight to San Jose for his induction Monday night.
“It really came out of the blue,” Garcia said by phone last week from St. Louis of his induction. “I’m very honored, very humbled.”
Garcia is a perfect candidate for the Hall. His father’s family worked the fields while growing up in Gilroy, and Jeff Garcia certainly represents the grit and perseverance of the South Bay.
