Eagles officially announce Chip Kelly's replacement

It's official: Doug Pederson is the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

While the news of the Eagles' decision broke on Thursday and was confirmed by CSNPhilly.com, the Eagles had to wait until the Chiefs lost in the playoffs to hire their offensive coordinator. That happened Saturday.

So on Monday, the Eagles announced Pederson is the 21stcoach in team history. The team will hold an introductory press conference on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

“We are excited to introduce Doug Pederson as our new head coach,” Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement released by the team.
