Eli Harold played in all 16 games his rookie year, even starting one at outside linebacker when Ahmad Brooks was unavailable. He flashed some strong talent and could very well be a long-term answer for the 49ers at the outside linebacker positions. That, however, is getting a bit too far ahead.
Currently Eli Harold is taking first-team reps at OTAs while Ahmad Brooks is only participating in walk-throughs due to an undisclosed injury. While Harold would have to pretty seriously wow the coaching staff to take Brooks’ starting role, he has made significant strides since he was selected in the third round a year ago.
