Chip Kelly was asked today about CEO Jed York pledging to donate $1 million Thursday to “improve racial and economic inequality.” The 49ers’ donations to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and the San Francisco Foundation came a week after quarterback Colin Kaepernick pledged to donate the first $1 million he earned this season to underserved communities.
“I think any time there’s conversation about injustice in this country, I think it’s a positive thing,” Kelly said. “But now instead of just a conversation to take it a step further, like both Colin has done and Jed has done, I think it’s a positive.
