The San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush cheerleaders are now team employees. According to a new law signed Wednesday by California governor Jerry Brown, cheerleaders in the state of California must now be paid minimum wage and given full employee benefits.
This is a fantastic day for cheerleaders and fans of football everywhere. For years NFL owners, such as the Yorks and the Davis’s across the Bay, have been getting richer and richer with new television contracts. The fact that these billionaires would shortchange delightful young ladies is appalling. Thank you Jerry Brown for giving cheerleaders the right to be something as basic as an employee!
