Colin Kaepernick breezed through the locker room and past a small group of reporters.
“Hey,” Kaepernick called out, “Who do you guys have lunch with?”
Kaepernick was poking harmless fun at the news conference he just concluded when he was asked who he lunches with.
The question was prompted by a national report saying that Kaepernick was on an island in the 49ers’ locker room.
“Kap isn’t on a damn island,” wide receiver Torrey Smith told a gaggle of reporters unprompted.
If the 49ers are fracturing in the wake of a 2-5 start, they didn’t show it on Wednesday, in fact they put up a convincing show of unity, with Smith leading the charge.
