The Latest 49ers Rumors On The NFL Draft, Josh Norman And Colin Kaepernick Trade

The NFL Draft is just a week away, and there are plenty of San Francisco 49ers rumors floating around. The 49ers have a plenty of needs to address, and plenty of draft picks to do it. The 49ers could go plenty of directions in the first and second round, which is why they've been linked to numerous players thus far. But the draft isn't the only thing going on, as Josh Norman has hit the open market. The 49ers could be the front-runners to land him. Let's get you caught up to speed with all the latest draft rumors, news and speculation surrounding the 49ers

49ers Favorites For Norman?
The 49ers have a need at CB and plenty of cap space. That's a big reason why the 49ers are the early front runners to land Norman.

If the 49ers are willing to meet Norman's reported $16 million desired salary, they could very well land him. It'd be a major upgrade at CB for a team that lacks a true No. 1 option. Plus, Norman has interest in playing in California.

49ers, Broncos Not Talking Colin Kaepernick Trade
It wasn't long ago that the 49ers and Broncos seemed close to a trade for Colin Kaepernick. But now, NFL.com reports the two sides aren't talking trade.

"It's dormant," John Elway said. "He's been working out from what I understand, so, that's all I can say about it."

However, Elway said there is still an offer on the table. The two sides could complete a deal during or after the draft, especially if the 49ers land a QB and Denver doesn't.

How The Eagles-Browns Trade Affects The 49ers
The Eagles, in a bit of a surprise, moved up from No. 8 to No. 2 in a trade with the Browns yesterday. That trade will have an impact on the 49ers' draft, and it goes beyond the team not getting Jared Goff or Carson Wentz this year.

"Now you worry about the next four (teams) in front of you," GM Trent Baalke told the team's website. “You’ve got a group of guys that you have graded and valued and you let the chips fall where they may. You may make a move up – we’ve done it before. We did it to go get Anthony Davis (in 2010). Would we do it again? Wouldn’t rule it out. Could we move back? Certainly could."

The Niners have been very active in previous drafts and they'll at least explore doing so again this year. Don't rule out a QB going early either, and Baalke said that was an option.
