Why the 49ers Are Wise not to Re-Sign WR Anquan Boldin

In 2003, the Arizona Cardinals selected wide receiver Anquan Boldin with the 54th overall pick in the Round 2 of the NFL Draft.

Fast forward to 2016.

Boldin has all the boxes checked on a career that will likely get some consideration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 13 years, Boldin has amassed over 13,000 yards receiving, putting him currently at 17th on the NFL all-time receiving leaders list. Boldin was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2003 and has been named to three Pro Bowls.

In 2012, Boldin hit the pinnacle of his career, becoming a Super Bowl champion with the Baltimore Ravens.
