Brian Hoyer is on this 2nd stint as a QB under Kyle Shanahan and has the best understanding of the offense Kyle wants to run. He was the QB on the Browns in 2014 when Kyle was the offensive coordinator.
Hoyer isn’t the best of quarterbacks, but he can help the 49ers in this transition phase until Kyle finds his franchise quarterback.
