49ers News: Jim Harbaugh a lock to take Michigan coaching job, friend confirms

The end of Jim Harbaugh's time as San Francisco 49ers head coach is close at hand by all accounts, with one of his old friends, CSN Bay Area's Dave Feldman, confirming what has been suspected all along - Jim Harbaugh will be the next coach of the Michigan Wolverines:

Feldman went to high school with Harbaugh at Palo Alto High and hosts the pregame show and other aspects of CSN Bay Area's game-day coverage of the San Francisco 49ers.

He confirmed to the Detroit Free Press that he himself had sent the tweet, and that Harbaugh is all but signed, sealed, and delivered for a return to Ann Arbor.

As Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press indicates, "Harbaugh and Feldman have been friends for decades and are close enough that Harbaugh let Feldman accompany him on his annual summer missionary pilgrimage to Peru to film a documentary last year."

Therefore, a confirmation from one of his closest confidants is just another sign that Harbaugh's decision has been made final and that he'll be leaving the NFL to return to the NCAA coaching ranks.
